Maintenance & Operation of Heavy Duty Equipment 

       Heavy equipment consists of heavy-duty vehicles or plant machinery used in the construction and manufacturing industry. The vehicles and machinery are used in areas such as demolition and construction processes, manufacturing procedures, and earth- and dirt-moving tasks. Machinery of this type includes bulldozers, cranes, diggers and dumpers. Regular safety training for heavy equipment operators is essential — not only are the machines themselves heavy, but so are the loads they carrying. Wrong handling or neglect can cost lives or cause serious damage. Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanics overhaul, repair and service equipment such as graders, loaders, shovels, tractors, trucks, forklifts, drills, and wheeled and tracked vehicles. Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanics are also responsible for safety-testing repaired equipment, and for cleaning and lubricating equipment. Working conditions range from industrial settings – such as plants and mining and logging sites – to airports and repair yards and shops.

Course Contain Heavy Duty Equipment

• Set-up and perform pre-delivery work
• Analyze failed parts and components and correct malfunctions
• Use sophisticated diagnostic equipment and techniques to perform component replacements on electrical, hydraulic, mechanical and air machine systems
• Disassemble, align, fit and machine parts
• Assemble, install, repair and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, heating and air conditioning units
• Rebuild, adjust and service a variety of components such as engines, transmissions, differentials, steering systems , electrical, gauges, suspension and monitoring systems
• Service basic fuel and fuel injection systems, air conditioning, emission control, lubricating and power assist equipment
• Diagnose and repair internal combustion and diesel engines and hydraulic system lift mechanisms
• Communicate work details effectively and make recommendations relating to service operation and maintenance of equipment
