CONTINUOUS AUDITING TRAINING DESCRIPTION

Hanging the audit process from an archival activity to one that is performed on a non-stop basis, continuous auditing is now viewed as a way to help prevent future corporate failures and financial misstatements. In this intensive two-day session you will cover the viability of continuous auditing, its conceptual framework, and the issues to be considered when implementing continuous auditing. You will gain an understanding of reporting time frames and the availability and reliability of data. You will investigate the need for an increased emphasis on preventative controls, pinpoint audit?s role, determine what can go wrong in the process, and discover what to look for when it does. You will learn how continuous auditing can be used to help achieve compliance with sections 302 and 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.

You will also examine automated audit procedures, information systems requirements, key controls, automated reporting, and software tools and techniques. You will explore how improving the collection, storage, and retrieval of data will allow you to significantly enhance how you conduct your audits.

You will discover how the combination of available and reliable data with continuous audit software tools and techniques takes auditing to the next level.
