Professional Scrum Foundations™ Program Description
The 2-day Professional Scrum Foundations course provides the foundational knowledge needed to work with Scrum in a highly practical way. The course is a combination of instruction and team-based exercises where students experience how the Scrum Framework improves product development efforts.
Over the 2 days, participants are introduced to the mechanics of Scrum, gaining insights into overcoming complexity, dealing with team-based collaboration and self-organization as essential elements in mastering Scrum.
Participants work together as a team in a series of Sprints to build a software application, thereby facing real-life problems. The mechanics, roles, and principles of Scrum are leveraged during the exercises. From its emphasis on the practical application of Scrum, the course exposes common missteps and misunderstandings so participants grow a higher awareness of the associated symptoms. The course provides prescriptive guidance to avoid going off track and keep Scrum healthy.
Professional Scrum Foundations™ Program Objectives
At the end of the program, the participants will be able to:
- Have a clear understanding of the foundational elements of Scrum and their coherence
- Obtain handful of tips to identify common pitfalls and dysfunctions

Target Audience
The Professional Scrum Foundations course is the perfect introduction, reboot or refresher to Scrum. This course is for teams or anyone wanting to experience the Scrum way of working. PSF provides the base knowledge needed for anyone interested in taking role focused trainings.
Duration
This program is 2 days of intensive training class.
Requirement
There are no pre-requisite for this program, although it is recommended for participants to:
- Have studied the Scrum Guide
- Have been closely involved or have high interest with a project thatbuilds or enhances a software product or application
Assessment & Award
The Professional Scrum Foundations course provides foundational knowledge of Scrum. All participants completing the Professional Scrum Foundations course receive a password to take the Professional Scrum Master level I assessment (PSM I). The industry-recognized PSM I certification requires a minimum passing score on this rigorous assessment. Scrum.org maintains a public list of all PSM I certificate holders.
