TRAINING DESCRIPTION ADVANCED FLOW MEASUREMENT

Flow is one of four major variables that can be found in industries. As flow has different characteristics compared to pressure, level or temperature, it is necessary to understand behavior, type of flow, selection of sensors and transducers and also type of control valve for control purposes. In many application, it is necessary to determine the magnitude and/or direction of the flow-velocity at a point in the fluid and how this varies from point to point. Sometimes the qualitative information is sufficiently available from direct visual observation. However, most methods also allow quantitative analysis by inserting velocity probes to obtain accurate point measurements. Flow measurement and instrumentation training program will present type of probes, measurement methods, analysis, flow control system and its elements.

Ir.Endra Joelianto, Ph.D

Ir.Endra Joelianto, Ph.D. is an expert in control engineering and industrial automation. His outstanding research is: Hybrid Control Systems, Discrete Event Control Systems, Petri Nets Analysis and Application on PLC, Robust and Advanced PID Controller and its implementation on PLC, DCS, Fieldbus, Industrial automation and Advanced Control System Designs. He received first degree (Ir.) in Engineering Physics in 1990 from Department of Engineering Physics, ITB and Doctor of Philosofy (PhD.) in Control Engineering in 2001 from Department of Engineering, The Australian National University, Canberra, Australia.  He is Head of Intelligent Control and Automation Laboratory and Coordinator of PLC Research Group for research and training, Engineering Physics Study Program and Instrumentation and Control Research Division, Institut Teknologi Bandung. He was Director of Schneider-OMRON PLC Training Center, Maranatha Christian University, Bandung.  He has attended several professional training on PLC, DCS and Instruments Callibration, such as: Yokogawa DCS, Bandung (2000), Implementation of Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 19-17025 and Basic Calibration, Yokogawa Electric Corporation, Bandung (2001), Fieldbus Foundation Technology, Singapore (2002), Basic and Advanced PLC Telemecanique-TWIDO, Bandung (2003), Basic and Advanced PLC OMRON, Jakarta (2004), Cleaner Production Application in Industries (Bandung 2005), Effective Energy Systems for Sustainable Development (Thailand 2006), Programming and Networking PLC Mitsubishi (2006), InTouch Wonderware, Wonderware Historian and Information Server (Bandung, 2012). He also has hosted Workshop on Industrial Automation (Bandung, 2002) and (Bandung, 2003), Workshop on Application of PLC in Industrial Automation (Bandung, 2003), National Workshop on Instrumentation & Control (2011) and many professional trainings on PLC, DCS, SCADA, Human Machine Interface and Industrial Process Control and Automation in Bandung. He was the project leader of Department of National Education TPSDP Retooling Program Batch II on Industrial Automation using PLC (2004). He is the chairman of National Student Competition on PLC Programming held regularly since 2007 in ITB. TRAINING INTRODUCTION FLOWMETERING AND CUSTODY TRANSFER

This course deals with the entire range of flow related instruments (especially in legal metrology) and renders a systematic approach in measurement, calibration, typical errors in measurement and their estimation. Flow metering technologies for custody transfer purposes that cover obstruction method (orifice, coriolis, positive displacement meter, venturi, vortex, v-cone, turbine, etc) and non-obstructions method includes ultrasonic and magnetic flowmeter will be discovered. Additionally, the course explains the calibration methods, uncertainty analysis, and certification of the related instruments for custody transfer application. This course covers topics including the flow metering and its conformity with API or AGA practical guides, ISO standard, ASME and OIML recommendations.

Dr. Ade Haryanto, Ph.D. received the B.S. in Engineering Physics and M.S. degree in Instrumentation and Control from Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) in 2003 and 2006, respectively, and Doctor Degree (Dr.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Intelligent Control and Automation in 2010 and 2013, respectively, from School of Mechanical Engineering, Pusan National University, Busan, South Korea. His research focus is including modeling, identification, dynamics system, instrumentation and control of the power plant and its implementation using distributed control system. As a professional instructor, he has trained various topics in the scope of process control, automation, and metering systems, which were aimed to participants coming from industrial practitioners such as PT. Pupuk Kaltim, PT. Badak NGL, PT. Pertamina, PT. Indonesia Power, PT PLN, PT. Pupuk Iskandar Muda, etc. In the project implementation areas, the instructor also experience in project documentation, control system migration and power plant design.

Deskripsi Training Fluid Flow Gas Metering and Custody Transfer

Kilang, pabrik kimia, perusahaan farmasi dan sejumlah industri lainnya harus mengukur bahan baku dan produk jadi secara akurat, karena mereka membayar untuk apa yang datang dan mendapatkan bayaran untuk apa yang terjadi diluar. Ketika produk berupa minyak dan gas yang mengalir melalui pipa, flowmeter digunakan sebagai alat ukurnya. Banyak teknologi flowmeter telah digunakan untuk aplikasi custody transfer. Teknologi ini termasuk dalam pengukuran differential pressure, turbin meter, positive displacement meter, pengukuran kepadatan dan aliran coriolis, serta pengukuran ultrasonik. Menurut Butch, komponen sistem membutuhkan perawtan yang tepat, verifikasi dan kalibrasi sesekali dalam rangka untuk terus memastikan untuk terus memastikan bahwa tingkat akurasi yang sama dari waktu ke waktu. Pemeliharaan berkala pada sistem custody metering sangat penting untuk memaksimalkan akurasi pengukuran secara keseluruhan dan optimal.

Deskripsi Flow Metering and Custody Transfer For Oil

Ketika produk berupa minyak yang mengalir melalui pipa, flowmeter digunakan sebagai alat ukurnya. Banyak teknologi flowmeter telah digunakan untuk aplikasi custody transfer. Teknologi ini termasuk dalam pengukuran differential pressure, turbin meter, positive displacement meter, pengukuran kepadatan dan aliran coriolis, serta pengukuran ultrasonik. Pemeliharaan berkala pada sistem custody metering sangat penting untuk memaksimalkan akurasi pengukuran secara keseluruhan dan optimal. Dalam pelatihan ini akan memungkinkan insinyur metering untuk mendapatkan pengetahuan tentang bagaimana cairan diukur di sektor minyak bumi, metering sistem yang digunakan, dan hal lain yang berkaitan dengan custody transfer.

Instrumentation is defined as the art and science of measurement and control of process variables within a production or manufacturing area. An instrument is a device that measures and/or regulates physical quantity/process variables such as flow, temperature, level, or pressure. Instruments include many varied contrivances that can be as simple as valve and transmitters, and as complex as analyzers. Instruments often comprise control systems of varied processes such as refineries, factories, and vehicles.

Flow measurement is the quantification of bulk fluid movement. Flow can be measured in a variety of ways. Positive-displacement flow meters accumulate a fixed volume of fluid and then count the number of times the volume is filled to measure flow.

Control valve are valve used to control conditions such as flow, pressure, temperature, and liquid level by fully or partially opening or closing in response to signals received from controllers that compare a “setpoint” to a “process variable” whose value is provided by sensors that monitor changes in such conditions.

DR. Sutanto Hadisupadmo.

DR. Sutanto Hadisupadmo. He has more than 15-year experienced as instructor on Instrumentation, Measurement Control & System, PLC, DCS Programming, Advance Process Control, etc.  His professional education started on Engineering Physics, Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB-1977), Diplome Universite in Energetique, Universite de Prepignan, France (1985), Magister Engineering in Instrumentation and Control (ITB) and Doctor (ITB).  As a lecturer at Department of Engineering Physics Department-ITB, he active doing research, writes published book/hands-out.  He has handled many projects in Instrumentation Process, Tools Evaluation, Transmitter, General Evaluation of Instrumentation Specification, Commercial Building Power Audit, Maintenance Management Evaluation, etc. To get more advance information and knowledge, he has participated in domestic and overseas training, seminar, workshop and conference as participant or speakers.
