DESKRIPSI TRAINING CONTROL VALVE

Elemen kontrol yang paling utama dalam proses kontrol industri adalah control valve. Control valve memanipulasi cairan mengalir, seperti gas, uap, air, atau senyawa kimia, untuk mengimbangi gangguan beban dan menjaga proses regulasi variabel diatur sedekat mungkin dengan set point yang diinginkan. Control valve assembly biasanya terdiri dari badan katup, bagian internal, aktuator untuk memberikan motive power untuk mengoperasikan valve, dan berbagai aksesoris valve tambahan, yang dapat mencakup positioner, transduser, supply pressure regulators, operator manual, snubbers, atau limit switch. Control valve atau perakitan control valve tidak sepenting mengakui bahwa control valve adalah bagian penting dari control loop. Hal ini tidak akurat untuk mengatakan bahwa control valve adalah bagian paling penting dari loop. Control loop adalah sebagai rantai instrumentasi. Seperti rantai lainnya, seluruh rantai hanya sebagai baik sebagai link terlemah. Hal ini penting untuk memastikan bahwa katup kontrol tidak link terlemah. It is for those primarily involved in achieving effective results in industrial processes. This would involve the design, specification and implementation of control and measurement equipment. The workshop focuses on practical applications, with special attention to installation considerations and application limitations when selecting or installing different control valves.

Ir.Endra Joelianto, Ph.D

Ir.Endra Joelianto, Ph.D. is an expert in control engineering and industrial automation. His outstanding research is: Hybrid Control Systems, Discrete Event Control Systems, Petri Nets Analysis and Application on PLC, Robust and Advanced PID Controller and its implementation on PLC, DCS, Fieldbus, Industrial automation and Advanced Control System Designs. He received first degree (Ir.) in Engineering Physics in 1990 from Department of Engineering Physics, ITB and Doctor of Philosofy (PhD.) in Control Engineering in 2001 from Department of Engineering, The Australian National University, Canberra, Australia.  He is Head of Intelligent Control and Automation Laboratory and Coordinator of PLC Research Group for research and training, Engineering Physics Study Program and Instrumentation and Control Research Division, Institut Teknologi Bandung. He was Director of Schneider-OMRON PLC Training Center, Maranatha Christian University, Bandung.  He has attended several professional training on PLC, DCS and Instruments Callibration, such as: Yokogawa DCS, Bandung (2000), Implementation of Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 19-17025 and Basic Calibration, Yokogawa Electric Corporation, Bandung (2001), Fieldbus Foundation Technology, Singapore (2002), Basic and Advanced PLC Telemecanique-TWIDO, Bandung (2003), Basic and Advanced PLC OMRON, Jakarta (2004), Cleaner Production Application in Industries (Bandung 2005), Effective Energy Systems for Sustainable Development (Thailand 2006), Programming and Networking PLC Mitsubishi (2006), InTouch Wonderware, Wonderware Historian and Information Server (Bandung, 2012). He also has hosted Workshop on Industrial Automation (Bandung, 2002) and (Bandung, 2003), Workshop on Application of PLC in Industrial Automation (Bandung, 2003), National Workshop on Instrumentation & Control (2011) and many professional trainings on PLC, DCS, SCADA, Human Machine Interface and Industrial Process Control and Automation in Bandung. He was the project leader of Department of National Education TPSDP Retooling Program Batch II on Industrial Automation using PLC (2004). DESKRIPSI Training Programmable Logic Control (PLC)

Bidang kontrol/ instrumentasi dalam dunia industri mempunyai peranan yang sangat significant, apalagi dalam proses yang membutuhkan presisi, kehandalan dan keamanan sistem. Instrumentasi industri telah menjadi bidang yang memberikan manfaat yang sangat besar terutama dalam kegiatan otomatisasi industri.

Sistem Instrumentasi merupakan sebuah sistem yang meliputi pengaturan variable-variabel seperti temperature (temperature), tekanan (pressure), aliran (flow) dan kecepatan (speed). Variable-variable ini merupakan keluaran yang harus dijaga tetap sesuai dengan keinginan yang telah ditetapkan terlebih dahulu oleh operator yang disebut set point.

Seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi khususnya di bidang teknologi digital dan computer, sistem instrumentasi yang dikembangkan menggunakan dukungan teknologi tersebut. Berbagai perangkat didesain untuk semakin memberikan kemudahan dan kahandalan didalam automasi industri. Salah satu perangkat yang banyak digunakan dalam automasi industri adalah Programmable Logic Control (PLC). Programmable Logic Control (PLC)adalah sebuah modul perangkat digital yang khusus digunakan mengontrol plant secara otomatis dan dapat deprogram sesuai dengan sistem/ plant yang akan dikendalikan. Programmable Logic Control (PLC) dirancang untuk tahan terhadap debu, suhu, dan getaran sehingga diaplikasikan secara luas dalam dunia industri. Selain itu, PLC memiliki banyak modul masukan dan keluaran yang mendukung pengendalian proses industri yang kompleks. Dengan menggunkan Programmable Logic Control (PLC), system pengontrolan proses industri menjadi lebih terintegresi dalam modul-modul yang lengkap dan lebih mudah serta dapat dikoneksikan dengan berbagai perangkat lain seperti server dan jaringan komputer guna pengembangan automasi yang lebih handal.

BACKGROUND :

To reduce the effect of these load disturbances, sensors and transmitters collect information about the process variable and its relationship to some desired set point. A controller then processes this information and decides what must be done to get the process variable back to where it should be after a load disturbance occurs. When all the measuring, comparing, and calculating are done, some type of final control element must implement the strategy selected by the controller.

The most common final control element in the process control industries is the control valve. The control valve manipulates a flowing fluid, such as gas, steam, water, or chemical compounds, to compensate for the load disturbance and keep the regulated process variable as close as possible to the desired set point.

Many people who talk about control valves or valves are really referring to a control valve assembly. The control valve assembly typically consists of the valve body, the internal trim parts, an actuator to provide the motive power to operate the valve, and a variety of additional valve accessories, which can include positioners, transducers, supply pressure regulators, manual operators, snubbers, or limit switches.

Whether it is called a valve, control valve or a control valve assembly is not as important as recognizing that the control valve is a critical part of the control loop. It is not accurate to say that the control valve is the most important part of the loop. It is useful to think of a control loop as an instrumentation chain. Like any other chain, the whole chain is only as good as its weakest link. It is important to ensure that the control valve is not the weakest link.

Latar Belakang Training Control Valve :

Secara definisi valve (katup) adalah peralatan mekanis yang dirancang khusus untuk mengarahkan, men-start, menyetop, mencampur dan mengatur aliran, tekanan atau temperature fluida yang melaluinya. Katup dapat difungsikan sebagai pengontrol aliran otomatis (control valve). Dengan berjalannya waktu, semua peralatan akan mengalami degradasi dan agar proses dapat berjalan dengan baik sesuai fungsinya. Untuk dapat memaintain control valve dengan baik maka diperlukan pemahaman lebih tentang komponen penyusun, cara kerja, pola-pola kerusakan serta prosedur pemakaiannya.

Tujuan Training Control Valve :

Sliding Stem Valve Bodies
Objectives :
Discussion will cover the many different types of valves, ANSI pressure classes, ANSI leak classes, trim styles, packing, and gaskets.

Actuators for Sliding Stem valves
Objectives :
Discussion will cover the operation of pneumatic spring and diaphragm and piston style actuators. Topic will cover bench set or spring adjustments, mounting on valves, and determination or fail modes.

Actuator Bench Set
Objectives :
Discussion will cover appropriate bench set adjustment procedures on spring and diaphragm actuators as outlined in the appropriate instruction manuals.

Special and Severe Service Valves
Objectives :
Discussion will cover valves that are designed for high pressure applications, and corrosion service. Topics will include seals, gaskets, trim changes, and general maintenance procedures. A discussion on Cavitation and Flashing will also be covered.

Butterfly valves

Instrumentation is defined as the art and science of measurement and control of process variables within a production or manufacturing area. An instrument is a device that measures and/or regulates physical quantity/process variables such as flow, temperature, level, or pressure. Instruments include many varied contrivances that can be as simple as valve and transmitters, and as complex as analyzers. Instruments often comprise control systems of varied processes such as refineries, factories, and vehicles.

Flow measurement is the quantification of bulk fluid movement. Flow can be measured in a variety of ways. Positive-displacement flow meters accumulate a fixed volume of fluid and then count the number of times the volume is filled to measure flow.

Control valve are valve used to control conditions such as flow, pressure, temperature, and liquid level by fully or partially opening or closing in response to signals received from controllers that compare a “setpoint” to a “process variable” whose value is provided by sensors that monitor changes in such conditions.

DR. Sutanto Hadisupadmo.

DR. Sutanto Hadisupadmo. He has more than 15-year experienced as instructor on Instrumentation, Measurement Control & System, PLC, DCS Programming, Advance Process Control, etc.  His professional education started on Engineering Physics, Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB-1977), Diplome Universite in Energetique, Universite de Prepignan, France (1985), Magister Engineering in Instrumentation and Control (ITB) and Doctor (ITB).  As a lecturer at Department of Engineering Physics Department-ITB, he active doing research, writes published book/hands-out.  He has handled many projects in Instrumentation Process, Tools Evaluation, Transmitter, General Evaluation of Instrumentation Specification, Commercial Building Power Audit, Maintenance Management Evaluation, etc. To get more advance information and knowledge, he has participated in domestic and overseas training, seminar, workshop and conference as participant or speakers.
