PENDAHULUAN

A gas turbine extracts energy from a flow of hot gas produced by combustion of gas or fuel oil in a stream of compressed air. It has an upstream air compressor (radial or axial flow) mechanically coupled to a downstream turbine and a combustion chamber in between. “Gas turbine” may also refer to just the turbine element.

Energy is released when compressed air is mixed with fuel and ignited in the combustor. The resulting gases are directed over the turbine’s blades, spinning the turbine, and mechanically powering the compressor. Finally, the gases are passed through a nozzle, generating additional thrust by accelerating the hot exhaust gases by expansion back to atmospheric pressure.

Energy is extracted in the form of shaft power, compressed air and thrust, in any combination, and used to power aircraft, trains, ships, electrical generators, and even tanks.

To support the sufficient production system, we need tough worker or increase the worker skill of operation, maintenance, and trouble shooting of gas turbine profession.



PARTICIPANTS

Practitioner in the operator level, supervisor level or planner of machine maintenance technology at engineering industry, which at least senior high school or technical vocational school.



OBJECTIVE TRAINING

  1. To able know to operation, maintenance, and trouble shooting of gas turbine.



GAS TURBINE MATERIAL OUTLINE:

1.    Overview of Gas Turbine Technology and Applications

  • Simple cycle Gas Turbines; cycle considerations; applications; fuels and corrosion; emissions; combined cycle and cogeneration. Overview of Developments
  • High temperature turbines, reheat turbines, close cycles, and other developments.

2.    Rotating Components and Matching

  • Brief overview of compressor and turbine design; component characteristics and matching. Compressor surge and prevention.

3.    Vibration and Rotor Dynamics

  • A review of vibration will include specific problems such as Blade Vibration and Shaft Critical Speeds. Case histories will link vibration with the fatigue failure of components. Rotor instability, in its various forms, will be discussed. Vibration spectrum analysis will be utilised for the solution of resonance, instability, and gear and blade problems. Campbell (Spoke) diagrams and Critical Speed maps will be derived and used for the solution of vibration and Rotor Dynamic problems. The design and performance of Squeeze-Film Damper Bearings for overcoming many of the problems associated with machine unbalance and critical speeds, will be covered.

4.    Combustors and Fuels

  • A description of combustor types, chamber design, fuel atomisation, ignition and combustor arrangements will be presented. Also discussed will be the constraints imposed by fuels on the design and operation of the hardware. The wide spectrum of fuels, both gaseous and liquid, is examined. An overview of fuel treatment and additives will be made.

5.    Performance Analysis

  • Basic thermodynamic aspects of stationary Gas Turbines. Design and off-design operation. Influence of site effects on typical performance maps. Variable geometry compressor and turbine status.

6.    Performance Analysis for Problem Detection

  • The fundamental concepts of performance analysis as a tool for saving energy costs are discussed. Basic and applied thermodynamics will be reviewed for gas turbines. The use of performance data to pinpoint problem areas will be discussed. Diagnostics related to fouling, nozzle erosion, bowing surge, choke, etc. will be covered. Meaningful trending methods will also be discussed.

7.    Gas Path Analysis for Stationary Gas Turbines – Status

  • Simulation of degraded Gas Turbines, derivation and application of fault coefficient matrix, fault trees and other techniques. Implications for component life and emissions.

8.    Gas Turbine Fouling

  • The causes, effects and detection of fouling in axial compressors will be covered including aero thermodynamic effects, effects on surge margin, intake distortion and blading problems. Filtration and control techniques will be covered.

9.    Gas Turbine Repair

  • The techniques of inspection and repair of gas turbines are described in detail, including NDT techniques, cleaning, plating, heat treatment, welding, etc.

10.    Maintenance

  • Case histories of various types of failures and maintenance problems of onshore and offshore gas turbine compressor installations are discussed. Maintenance techniques using bore scope and spectrum analysis including acoustic monitoring are discussed. Techniques for checking and conducting repairs on impellers, diffusers, bearings, couplings, and foundation repair are emphasised.

11.  Special Considerations for CHP Gas Turbines

  • This section will cover special considerations in design, operation and maintenance of turbines and associated equipment on Cogeneration Services. Several cases will be covered. Off design operation effects on HRSG, STTG Cycles and evaporate cooling will be covered.

Ir. Maridjo,MT.is alumnus from Mechanical Engineering Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). He has been lecturer at PEDC and now as lecturer at mechanical engineering Polytechnique ITB (POLBAN). Ir. Maridjo has taught many topics related to his expertise to many companies in Indonesia, such as predictive and preventive maintenance, lubrication system, diesel machine, pump, gas turbine, piping and pipeline, compressor, boiler, conveyor system and many others. Many participants from companies have been trained and collaborated with him such as Chevron, Semen Gresik, semen Baturaja, Pertamina, Pusri, GGPC, employee of Qatar and lybia oil and gas company, UP IV Balongan pertamina, PT. Indocement, some PLTA, some hotels, PT.Pupuk Kujang, PT.Bio Farma, BPPT, PT. Bintang Agung, some other oil and gas companies in Indonesia and etc. Ir.Maridjo has been researching and publishing the results on his core competencies on academics standing.

Deskripsi Training Completion, Workover dan Kerja Ulang Stimulasi

Pekerjaan tahap akhir atau penyempurnaan untuk mempersiapkan sumur pemboran menjadi sumur produksi dinamakan well completion. Tujuan dari well completion adalah untuk mendapatkan hasil produksi optimum dan mengatasi pengaruh negatif dari setiap lapisan produktif. Workover adalah pekerjaan untuk mempertahankan atau memperbaiki / menambah produksi dengan cara – cara mengubah atau mengolah zona produksi atau menganti zona produksi. sebab – sebab dilakukannya workover diantaranya adalah permeabilitas reservoir yang rendah, tekanan reservoir yang rendah dan formation damage. Stimulasi adalah suatu pekerjaan yang dilakukan terhadap sumur dengan tujuan meningkatkan laju produksi dengan jalan memperbaiki dan atau meningkatkan harga permeabilitas batuan.  Ada dua cara untuk memperbaiki permeabilitas, yaitu acidizing dan hydraulic fracturing.

TRAINING BACKGROUND CORROSION MANAGEMENT

This course will cover the main causes of corrosion in upstream oil and gas operations, as well as monitoring and mitigation methods. The various corrosion mechanisms give rise to a number of different forms of corrosion damage which will all be considered. Participants will estimate the corrosivity of a given environment through analysis of the chemical and physical characteristics of the system. You will review approaches to selecting materials and coatings for corrosion resistance for different conditions and applications, including the use of NACE. You will be introduced to CP surveys, selecting the CP system type, estimating current requirements and the design principles of simple cathodic protection systems. There will be opportunity to select and utilize corrosion inhibitors for different systems and you will learn how to select and apply corrosion monitoring techniques to create an integrated monitoring program. The course content is based on a field facilities engineering point of view as opposed to a more narrowly specialized corrosion engineering or chemistry viewpoint. This course provides an appropriate balance of necessary theory and practical applications to solve/mitigate corrosion related problems.

Dr.Ir. Paryana Puspaputra, M.Eng., and Team

Paryana Puspaputra was born in Kotabumi on January 19, 1964, is a Lecturer at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Industrial Technology, Indonesia Islamic University – Indonesia. Undergraduate from Department of Mechanical Engineering, Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia (ITB) in 1990 and master degree in Mechanical Engineering Department of Nagaoka University of Technology, Japan in 1996. He achieved his doctorate degree in Department of Mechanical Engineering, Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia (ITB) in 2012. He is also experienced as consultant and training instructure for several manufacturing and oil company, such as Chevron, Total, KPA, Petrokimia, Semen, Indonesia Power, etc. His background in mechanical equipment and machinery is completed with knowledge in instrumentation technology which was started from his final project in undergraduate by making software and data acquisition for predictive maintenance, and continued with his graduate thesis in control system for nano technology. There are researches and industrial implementation in data acquisition such as building the DNC system for production-shop using CNC machine, developing the balancing machine for Panasia Indosyntex – Bandung, SCADA system Development based on Fuji Electric control system (for IPAL – Pertamina – Cilacap, Toxic Gas Monitoring – Dieng – Central Java, etc). Moreover, he is also an official trainer of softwares for design and manufacturing base on CAD/CAM Technology (AutoCAD, Inventor, and Delcam PowerShape, ArtCAM) and familier with some finite element based analysys softwares such as Moldflow, ANSYS, SAP, CAESAR II, etc.

INTRODUCTION

The natural gas industry has recognized that dehydration is necessary to ensure smooth operation of gas transmission lines. Dehydration prevents the formation of gas hydrates and reduces corrosion. Unless gases are dehydrated, liquid water may condense in pipelines and accumulate at low points along the line, reducing its flow capacity. Therefore, the removal of the water that is associated with natural gases in vapor form is one critical step in gas processing scheme. Several methods have been developed to dehydrate gases on an industrial scale. The three major methods are: direct cooling, adsorption and absorption. INTRODUCTION OIL AND GAS PROCESSING PLANT DESIGN AND OPERATIONS

Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan pemahaman tentang rancangan (design), dan operasi dari plant pemrosesan minyak dan gas. Pelatihan akan diawali dengan pembahasan mengenai sifat dan karakteristik dari hydrocarbon sebagai komponen utama penyusun minyak dan gas. Selanjutnya akan dilakukan overview terhadap proses atau operasi yang digunakan dalam pengolahan minyak dan gas. Berdasarkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman tentang sifat dan karakteristik minyak/gas dan proses atau operasi yang digunakan dalam pengolahan gas tersebut, maka pembahasan mengenai rancangan (design) dapat dilakukan.
