DESKRIPSI

Two complementary philosophies form a powerful combination to change the organizational culture and establish a process for continuous improvement. The Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) approach, based on people and process, transforms culture and the way we view our assets. The Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) approach can be daunting, although it establishes a strong foundation for a maintenance strategy. Individually, both have been monumental approaches to maintenance excellence, but when combined have been proven to reduce downtime and increase productivity..

PENDAHULUAN 

Reliabilitas dekat dengan kata KEHANDALAN dalam bahasa Indonesia. Kehandalan sebuah sistem dapat diukur dengan nilai reliabilitasnya.  Sistem mempunyai kehandalan yang sempurna bila nilai reliabilitasnya 100 %, sebaliknya kehandalan sistem rendah bila nilai reliabilitasnya rendah. Nilai reliabilitas dapat digunakan untuk mengukur tingkat keberhasilan departemen maintenance dalam melaksanakan tugasnya.

Banyak pendapat yang mendefinisikan reliabilitas antara lain :

  1. bahwa sistem itu reliable (handal) bila dapat bekerja tanpa mendapatkan perlakuan maintenance dalam kurun waktu tertentu, atau maintenance free dalam waktu tertentu,
  2. bahwa sistem handal bila nilai availibilitynya tinggi,
  3. bahwa sistem handal bila komponen-komponenya dapat bekerja sebagaimana yang diharapkan.

Pendapat-pendapat itu perlu disempurnakan karena masih berupa konsep yang bias dan tidak menunjukan nilai yang eksak.

Kursus ini membahas bagaimana cara menghitung nilai reliabilitas yang berdasarkan availibity dan maintainability sistem. Nilai availibiity dan maintainability sistem diwujudkan dalam angka-angka numerik yang bukan merupakan fungsi waktu, sehingga dapat diperoleh rumusan nilai reliabilitas yang dapat menggambarkan secara eksak kehandalan sistem secara  riil time.

INTRODUCTION

Current competitions on product price and product quality have introduced complex production systems, which are more efficient and effective. Health, environment and safety are also other pressures for such production systems. This jump of complexity of the production systems requires also a paradigm shift in the philosophy of maintenance, in order to achieve effective and efficient production systems, without increasing maintenance cost or downtime. The Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) methodology offers the most effective way in realizing those objectives.

RCM determines the priority of maintenance tasks based on the failure consequences of functional failure being analyzed and the applicability and the effectiveness of the maintenance tasks. This is to ensure the safety consequences of the functional failures are considered in a conservative way. The rests are economic considerations.

This course elaborates the challenges in maintenance practices where safety and costs are the main issues. As a basis, five of the most important distribution functions in the reliability theory are discussed as well as some exercise in developing such functions. The concept of maintenance is explained after discussing some definitions with respect to failure and degradation types, as the core of the course. The process of  RCM analysis requires an identification of function, functional failure, failure modes and failure effects. Therefore FMEA is discussed. The selection of the most appropriate task requires an understanding on the specific characteristics of each maintenance task, the four basic maintenance tasks. A compilation of FMEA and task selection becomes the logic of RCM. Due to different characteristics of structures, RCM has different logic for determining maintenance task and interval for structures. For the two logics of RCM, this course discusses some example of applications. This course is closed with a method to evaluate the effectiveness of a maintenance program, so called the Reliability Program.

  • The key objective of this course is to describe a method in order to increase the availability of production equipments and reduce maintenance cost by implementing the Reliability-Centered Maintenance method.
  • The second objective, but not less important, is to ensure that the safety effects of functional failures are not overlooked.
  • Specific for maintenance engineers, this course will describe how to develop a cost-effective maintenance program by using RCM. It is also important for maintenance planners, supervisors and maintenance managers to understand the required information to develop a cost-effective maintenance program, with continuous improvement.

Dr. Ir. Edy Suwondo

Dr. Ir. Edy Suwondo is a lecturer at the Aerospace Engineering Department, Institute Technology of Bandung (ITB) and a member of the Aircraft Design, Operation and Maintenance Research Group, ITB. He has been working in the area of maintenance since 1992. His expertise is in Reliability Centered Maintenance, Reliability Control Program, Maintenance Planning and Life Cycle Costing. He has conducted various research in those area at GMF AeroAsia, Royal Dutch Airlines (KLM), Nusantara Turbine and Propulsion (PT NTP) and Indonesian Aerospace Company (IAe). He involves also in various projects in his research group. Mr. Edy Suwondo received his bachelor degree from the Aerospace Engineering ITB and his doctor degree from Aerospace Engineering, Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), The Netherlands. His doctor research was in the applications of Life Cycle Costing in maintenance area.

DESKRIPSI TRAINING MAINTENANCE PRIORITY INDEX

Sebagian besar dari Reliability Management Process didasarkan pada pengelolaan dari berbagai aset kritikal, namun banyak organisasi yang gagal untuk memahami sepenuhnya mengenai makna dibalik dari criticality ranking. Umumnya, aset yang ‘kritikal’ memiliki dampak yang signifikan terhadap misi dari organisasi, baik tingkat produksi atau pelayanan, mutu dari produk atau pelayanan yang dihasilkan, atau biaya dari produk atau pelayanan.

Namun mengikuti pola pikir demikian, organisasi seringkali terjebak untuk hanya mementingkan karakteristik tunggal yang membuat tiap aset menjadi ‘kritikal’.

DESKRIPSI

Bidang maintenance telah mengalami perkembangan yang sangat pesat dibanding ilmu manajemen lainnya. Pesatnya perubahan ini disebabkan oleh pesatnya pertumbuhan aset perusahaan yang harus dipelihara sehingga menunjang produktifitas perusahaan. Dengan semakin kompleksnya desain peralatan, maka diperlukan teknik dan manajemen maintenance yang lebih baik tentang peranan dan tanggung jawab fungsi maintenance.
Program training ini memberikan peserta dengan wawasan tentang kondisi sekarang pada organisasi di bagian maintenance. Kemudian memberi mereka kesempatan untuk melihat apa yang tersedia melalui penerapan CMMS untuk meraih tingkat yang diinginkan organisasi dan untuk meninjau alat dalam menutup kesenjangan.
