TRAINING OBJECTIVES

  1. By attending this course, participants are able to broaden or reshape their knowledge on the related subjects of his or her area of responsibility, learn more detail about corrosion and scaling mechanism, know more how to prevent corrosion and scaling, understand how to select and use chemicals, discuss and consult their specific problems they are about to bring to the class, and share experiences with others.
  2. After completion of this course, participants will understand what corrosion and scaling are and their fantastic devastating potential, why and how they begin, how to detect, predict and monitor their growth, and how to control and prevent these big and serious problems. Participants will know whether or not corrosion and scaling happen in particular oil & gas field and what to do to anticipate the risks.
  3. This course is designed as an effective practical shortcut to understand oil & gas field corrosion and scaling prevention, for either corrosion engineers or non corrosion engineering personnel who involve in oil & gas operations and maintenance, pipeline and asset integrity management, pipeline inspection and pigging, material purchasing, chemical selection and injection, produced water handling, hazard and HSE management, and any corrosion and scaling prevention related business activity.

Ir. Hilman Ahmad, DCE., an Independent Consultant in industrial oil and gas, member of the Society of Indonesian Petroleum Engineers, who manage the Industrial Oil & Gas Education Center for Professionals and has been practicing production operation & safety and corrosion control engineering in Indonesia for more than twenty-five years. He post-graduated from Tokyo Institute of technology (sponsored by UNESCO) in 1977. He joined in-field-practice program at Nippon Kokan Steel Company & Research Center Kawasaki, Japan for production facility design & construction and corrosion prevention & control in 1983, and collaborated with Cormon Industrial Research Center Brighton UK for on-line corrosion monitoring development in 2000.He has been delivering consultative course in production operation, maintenance & safety and corrosion control for personnel from Oil & Gas Company and Petrochemical Industry since 1979.

PENDAHULUAN

Korosi adalah kerusakan atau degradasi logam akibat reaksi dengan lingkungan yang korosif. Korosi dapat juga diartikan sebagai serangan yang merusak logam karena logam bereaksi secara kimia atau elektrokimia dengan lingkungan. Korosi dapat juga kebalikan dari proses ekstraksi logam dari material. Contohnya, logam besi di alam bebas dalam bentuk senyawa besi oksida atau besi sulfida, setelah diekstraksi dan diolah, akan dihasilkan besi yang digunakan untuk pembuatan baja atau baja paduan. Selama pemakaian, baja tersebut akan bereaksi dengan lingkungan yang menyebabkan korosi (kembali menjadi senyawa besi oksida). Oleh karena perlu dilakukan pengurangan yang bersifat pencegahan terhadap timbulnya korosi.

Korosi tidak hanya terjadi pada logam tapi juga terjadi pada material yang bukan logam dengan sangat cepat atau lambat. Dalam kondisi demikian hal yang penting adalah bagaimana menghambat, mencegah terjadinya korosi tersebut. Korosi secara ekonomi sangat merugikan sehingga korosi dipandang menjadi masalah serius pada kontruksi mesin dan peralatan. Dibidang korosi permasalahan yang muncul adalah bagaimana menganalisis, mencegah dan mengontrol serta menginspeksi korosi agar secara ekonomi tidak merugikan .

Untuk mendukung sistem produksi yang memadai diperlukan tenaga kerja yang handal atau peningkatan keahlian tenaga kerja profesi Inspeksi dan Korosi.



TUJUAN TRAINING : 

Membekali peserta tentang wawasan dan pegetahuan inspeksi dan korosi baik pada logam maupun non logam, serta pemeriksaan dan pengendalian korosi.

Setelah mengikuti pelatihan ini, peserta diharapkan mampu:

CAKUPAN MATERI TRAINING INSPEKSI DAN KOROSI:

  1. Konsep dasar inspeksi: pengertian, tujuan, dan filosofi inspeksi.
  2. Jenis-jenis inspeksi: berdasarkan waktu pelaksanaan, berdasarkan jenis pekerjaan, berdasarkan status benda yang diperiksa.
  3. Konsep dasar korosi: pengertian korosi, klasifikasi korosi, lingkungan, kerusakan akibat korosi.
  4. Prinsip dasar korosi: aspek elektokimia, pengaruh lingkungan, aspek metalurgi dan lainnya
  5. Laju dan bentuk korosi: uniform corrosion atau general corrosion, galvanic atau two-metal corrsion, crevice corrosion, pitting corrosion, Intergranular corrosion, selective leaching atau parting, erosion, stress corrosion.
  6. Pemeriksaan (pengujian) korosi: pemilihan material (logam dan paduannya, non logam), pengubahan lingkungan (modifikasi elektrolit, inhibitor, tanah sebagai lingkungan)
  7. Pengendalian (pencegahan) korosi: pemberian lapisan (lapisan cat, lapisan plastik, lapisan beton, lapisan logam), proteksi anodik, proteksi katodik (metoda anoda tumbal, metoda arus terpasang).

Ir. Ating Sudradjat,MSc. adalah alumnus Teknik Industri ITB Bandung. Beliau adalah dosen Teknik Mesin di Politeknik ITB(POLBAN). Untuk mempertajam kemampuannya beliau sudah pernah terjun ke lapangan/perusahaan secara langsung, seperti Chief Technician di PT pamindo tiga t Jakarta selama 5 tahun, lalu menjadi Technical Manager di CV karya mandiri Bandung. Beliau juga pernah menjadi dosen di Polytechnic Education Development Center selama 11 tahun. Menjadi Technical Director di PT Pinangmas Energi Cakrawala Jakarta. Lalu di Cakrawala Optimus Explorer Bandung. Consultant & Trainer pada beberapa lembaga diantaranya di PT.MMS dan Logistic System di PT WKM. INTRODUCTION AND GOAL

Thermal spraying is a group of processes wherein a feedstock material is heated and propelled as individual particles or droplets onto a surface. The thermal spray gun generates the necessary heat by using combustible gases or an electric arc. As the materials are heated, they are changed to a plastic or molten state and are confined and accelerated by a compressed gas stream to the substrate. The particles strike the substrate, flatten, and form thin platelets (splats) that conform and adhere to the irregularities of the prepared substrate and to each other. As the sprayed particles impinge upon the surface, they cool and build up, splat by splat, into a laminar structure forming the thermal spray coating.

Thermal spray coating is a well-established coating technique comparing with other coating processes. The advantages of thermal spray coating comparing with hard chrome, physical vapour deposition (PVD), chemical vapour deposition (CVD) are:

  • high deposition rate
  • low heat input process
  • proven technology
  • variety of coating materials
  • high degree of repeatability
  • resource of utilization
  • favorable economics

Thermal spray technology and coatings solve critical problems in demanding environments. They provide “solutions” to problems involving repair, wear, high temperature and aqueous corrosion, and thermal protection. Thermal spray can also be used to manufacture net-shapes, advanced sensors and materials for the biomedical and energy/environmental sectors. These and other emerging applications take advantage of the rapid and cost-effective capabilities of thermal spray technology in the OEM and repair industries.

The thermal spray coating technology has been used in various industry ranges from aerospace to electronic industry and the utilization of this technology is growing fast in the industrial country. The market of thermal spray coating in Indonesia is widely opened, but there still few utilization from the industry and thermal spray workshop due to the limitation of technology and equipment.

This course :

(i) provides a thorough grounding and understanding of thermal spray processes, (ii) presents the complex scientific concepts in terms of simple physical models, and (iii) integrates this knowledge to practical applications and accepted thermal spray practices.

Dr.Eng. Budi Prawara (Peneliti dan Praktisi LIPI bidang heat treatment and thermal spray coating)

Dr. Eng. Budi Prawarais graduated from Material Engineering (Thermal Spray Coating) University of the Ryukyus Japan for his Doctorate program. He work as researcher at research center of electric power and mechatronics – LIPI (Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia) and his structural position is as head of Subdivision of mechatronic facilities. His core expertise is material engineering and surface engineering(rekayasa permukaan).  Related to training, Dr. Eng. Budi Prawara has taught  training class on topics related to Thermal Spray Coating, including heat treatment. As researcher he has researched numerous number such as Heat treatment to steel AISI H13 with process of Austempering, Tempering and Martempering, Defect influence at Thermal Spray Coating to Thermal Properties, heat treatment of Thermal Spray Coating with process of Spark Plasma Sintering, Deposition of Ceramic Matrix Composite Coating with HVOF Thermal Spray Coating for worn out and impact resistance application, Heat Treatment of Ni-Base Self Flux Alloy (SFA) Coatings by Spark Plasma Sintering, Station Charging System for electric Motor, designing of Cooling System at Dies High Pressure Die Casting/HPDC, designing of Thermal Spray Coating with High Velocity Oxygen Fuel (HVOF) System, designing of Dies HPDC at otomotive component, etc., and he has published its to academics media/journal and has spoken at seminars or conferences in Indonesia and abroad.

PENDAHULUAN TRAINING ELECTROPLATING

Kerusakan material yang disebabkan oleh kimia (dalam larutan asam, larutan netral, dan basa) atau elektro kimia dengan lingkungannya. Lingkungan yang basah atau lembab mempermudah terjadinya korosi, seperti besi tercelup dalam air, tetesan uap air (embun) di atas baja atau besi.

Salah satu proses penyelesaian untuk mengurangi terjadinya korosi bahan adalah dengan proses pelapisan logam terhadap permukaan produk atau logam tersebut dengan menggunakan lapisan pelindung. Dengan pelapisan tersebut dapat juga memperbaiki nilai estetika (tampak rupa), meningkatkan ketahanan logam dasar terhadap gesekan dan goresan, menambah kehalusan permukaan.

Untuk mendukung sistem produksi yang memadai diperlukan tenaga kerja yang handal atau peningkatan keahlian tenaga kerja profesi Proses Pelapisan Logam.

Ir. Slamet Sucipto,MT.  and Team

Drs. Slamet Sutjipto, MT. was graduated from ITB Bandung in metallurgical engineering. He is lecturer in mechanical engineering department at politeknik negeri Bandung(before as poltek ITB). He improved his competencies by following some courses beside his formal education. In his campus, he teachs for some subjects e.g.: material engineering or knowledge of material, energy convertion machine, engineering thermodynamics, instrumentation and control, practice of maintenance and repair, pneumatics and hydraulics. Drs. Slamet Sutjipto, MT. has been teaching training class for companies in Indonesia on several topics e.g.: NDT and Quality Assurance, Metallurgy for Metallurgist, Inspection and Corrosion, Failure Analysis Method, Engineering Material, Testing of Material, Design of Mechanic, Coating System and Protection.
